Nearly two weeks after the
incident, Rihanna released a short statement through her
publicist in order to reassure fans of her wellbeing, although
she has honoured the wishes of LAPD and would not comment on the
alleged abuse.
The message, which surfaced
just one day before the young star’s 21st birthday,
stated that ‘at the request of the authorities, Rihanna is not
commenting about the incident involving Chris Brown.’ The
statement continues by thanking fans:
‘She wants to assure her fans
that she remains strong, is doing well and deeply appreciates
the outpouring of support she has received during this difficult
time.’
Hopefully, Rihanna will
continue to act in a dignified and positive manner as the
details of the incident and its aftermath become more apparent.
